GM has announced the pricing for dedicated in-car 4G LTE data plans, and it's surprisingly affordable.

Starting at $5 a month for OnStar subscribers and $10 a month for non-subscribers, plans offer between 200 MB and 5 GB per month. Users can also buy a single-day 250 MB pass for $5.

There's also the option of a 10 GB, yearlong plan that costs $150 for OnStar subscribers and $200 for those without. OnStar users must have either the Safe and Sound or Directions and Connections packages to get the discount.

Since the 4G LTE connection is provided by AT&T, existing AT&T customers can add their GM cars onto a Mobile Share Plan for $10 a month.

We've been waiting for these numbers since CES back in January, when GM first told us about its plan to install dedicated 4G LTE connections in vehicles.

The costs are on par with what Audi is charging for AudiConnect 4G LTE on the 2015 A3, although Audi's costs are geared towards longer-term subscriptions with more data. Audi also uses AT&T as a provider, and charges $99 for a six month, 5 GB plan and $499 for a 30 month, 30 GB plan. That comes out to $16 per month.

According to GM, in-car 4G LTE will debut on the 2015 Chevrolet Malibu, and will be available across the Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, and Cadillac lineups for 2015 model year vehicles. The 4G LTE plans will also function as in-car hotspots for passengers whenever the vehicles are turned on.
